Yes, you read that correctly. Could the famed shock rocker possibly be going country? Why yes, it could be a huge possibility. With the success of fellow rocker Steven Tyler, Marilyn Manson seems to be following the trend, needing a change in his work.
The rumors began after Manson spoke with MetalHammer.com and told them that he and Jonathan Davis were "talking about doing something completely unexpected together." Davis is the frontman for the rock band Korn and has recently revealed that he will be working with Big & Rich for a country project of his own.
That comment alone would be assuming way too much out of Manson and Davis, but it's Manson's comments on a Reddit "AMA" with fans that gives clarity to the entire situation. It was only after a fan asked if Manson would ever do an acoustic project and if he was going to, could he please provide more details. Manson's response wasn't specific, but shed light on a few details.
"That's some of the plans of the style of music that I'm working on right now. I don't know what it'll turn into," Manson says. "Some of it will be with Jonathan Davis, I think. Because he has plans of doing something similar as well. Something that might even cross over the boundaries of being more Southern-sounding."
Well then! I think that gives us an answer. With so many artists moving to the country genre, there's no doubt that we'll be seeing a lot of new country music coming soon.
