At the young age of 13, Jenifer Strait was taken away from her father, George Strait, and it was an unimaginable tragedy.

In 1986, Jenifer was a passenger in a car accident, and was tragically ejected from the vehicle.

George Strait lost his beautiful, blue-eyed daughter, and he turned to music and support from family and friends to deal with this unbearable tragedy.

It has never really been confirmed, but the original song, "Baby Blue" might have been about young Jenifer.

The narrator in the song explains the profound impact a young girl with baby blue eyes had on his life. The narrator sings that she was only in his life for a short amount of time, but that he still thinks of her often. The song compares her eyes to blue skies, saying that the color matches exactly.

When George sings the chorus, our hearts break into a million pieces:
"And baby blue was the color of her eyes. Baby blue like the Colorado skies. Like a breath of spring, she came and left, and I still don't know why, so here's to you and whoever holds my baby blue tonight."
Jenifer Strait was George and Norma's first child together, and when she died, George didn't allow this unthinkable tragedy to happen in vain.

Shortly thereafter, George founded and created the Jenifer Lynn Strait Foundation, which is an organization that, to this day, still donates money to various San Antonio children's charities.

The video shows a slideshow of pictures of George Strait with his baby girl, and it's heartbreaking.

Jenifer was absolutely beautiful.

May you forever rest in peace Jenifer Lynn Strait.

LYRICS BELOW

She looked so much like a lady, but she was so much like a child.
A devil when she held me close, an angel when she smiled.
She always held it deep inside, but somehow I always knew
She's go away when the grass turned green and the sky turned baby blue.

And baby blue was the color of her eyes.
Baby blue like the Colorado skies.
Like a breath of spring, she came and left,
And I still don't know why,
So here's to you and whoever holds my baby blue tonight.

She brought colors to my life that my eyes had never touched.
And when she taught me how to care, I never cared so much.
I try not to think of her, but I fall asleep and do,
And drift off where the grass is green and the sky is baby blue.
