In this amazing performance of a George Jones classic, Joe Diffie took to the Grand Ole Opry stage as George looks on in approval of the performance! Joe chose "White Lightning", a song which George made famous in 1959 and Joe adds humor and fun twists to the song as he performs.

"White Lightning" was George's first No. 1 hit and it was on the U.S. Billboard Hot C&W Sides. The song has become a classic in the country genre, with multiple artists, including Hank Williams Jr., taking the song and creating a cover of it for their own albums.

Joe's performance is one to be remembered, with his energy and fun nature, it's clear he loves the song as much as he loves George. Joe even announces before he begins to play and at the end of the song, how George is the greatest. With George smiling and clapping along, it's clear he's enjoying the performance as much as the crowd around him.

Check the video out below and check out a classic performance of George singing "White Lightning" himself.

LYRICS BELOW

Well in North Carolina, way back in the hills
Me and my old pappy had a hand in a still
We brewed white lightnin' 'til the sun went down
Then he'd fill him a jug and he'd pass it around
Mighty, mighty pleasin', pappy's corn squeezin'
Shh, white lightnin'

Well the G men, T men, revenuers, too
Searchin' for the place where he made his brew
They were lookin', tryin' to book him
But my pappy kept a-cookin'
Shh, white lightnin'

Well a city slicker came and he said, "I'm tough"
I think I wanna taste that powerful stuff
He took one glug and drank it right down
And I heard him a moanin' as he hit the ground
Mighty, mighty pleasin', pappy's corn squeezin'
Shh, white lightnin'

Yeah the G men, T men, revenuers, too
Searchin' for the place where he made his brew
They were lookin', tryin' to book him
But my pappy kept a-cookin'
Well I asked my old pappy why he called his brew

White lightnin' 'stead of mountain dew
I took a little sip and right away I knew
As my eyes bugged out and my face turned blue
Lightnin' started flashin' and thunder started crashin'
Shh, white lightnin'

Yeah l the G men, T men, revenuers, too
Searchin' for the place where he made his brew
They were lookin', tryin' to book him
But my pappy kept a-cookin'
Shh, that's all I mingled
