After years dissatisfaction and bouncing around to different labels, Toby decided to take things into his own hands. In 2005 he founded his own label, Show Dog Nashville, which later merged with Universal South Records to form Show Dog-Universal Music.

Toby has released his past nine studio albums through his label, along with his 35 Biggest Hits compilation. Other artists who were formerly signed to the label include Trace Adkins, Randy Houser, and Phil Vassar.

It turns out that Toby's label is actually a family affair. His daughter and fellow country artist, Krystal, is also signed there.
