Garth Brooks has always known how to put on an amazing show, and when he stepped on stage to pay tribute to music legend, Billy Joel thats exactly what he did. In December of 2013, Brooks performed for Joel at the Kennedy Center Opera House singing two of his biggest hits, "Allentown" and "Goodnight Saigon".
With a little help on the last chorus from some U.S. veterans, Brooks put on the performance of a lifetime. The entire audience was on their feet by the end, and although Joel remained his composure throughout, you could see the emotion in his eyes. The rest of the crowd couldn't help tearing up, especially with such a strong finish.
Brooks always knows the way to pull at our heartstrings!
Joel was one of the honorees that night, with host of tribute performances from, Rufus Wainwright, Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco, Don Henley, and of course, Garth Brooks. Each sang songs of Joel's to pay homage to his legendary career. Amazing!
Watch as Brooks gives one of his most emotional performances ever! Don't forget the box of tissues when you watch this one.
