Conway Twitty had a lot of #1 hits throughout his career, but there's no question that "Hello Darlin'" is his absolute best.

Twitty's oldest son, Michael, has worked to keep his father's legacy alive since the country legend's death in 1993, particularly through his cover of his father's hit song.

"Hello Darlin'" was written and recorded by Twitty himself, and was originally released in 1970 from Twitty's album of the same name. The song was so successful that it was actually named as the #1 song for the year of 1970. Because of it's popularity, Twitty traditionally opened his shows with the song.

Twitty often performed with fellow superstar Loretta Lynn, and whenever she was on stage during "Hello Darlin'" he would always look directly at her when he sang the song.

Michael's performance of his father's hit song is a very intimate moment, as he's only surrounded by a small crowd of people. Many people in the crowd have a smile on their face as they sing along with Michael.

Michael stays pretty true to how his father performed the song, maintaining the same storytelling tone to his voice as he sings.

Although no one could ever perform the iconic "Hello Darlin'" as well as Twitty himself, we think it's safe to say that Michael's version of the song is one that would make his father proud.

Hello Darlin'
Nice to see you
It's been a long time
You're just as lovely
As you used to be.

How's your new love
Are you happy
Hope your doin' fine
Just to know it
Means so much to me.

What's that Darlin'
How am I doin'
Guess I'm doin' alright
Except I cant sleep
And I cry all night 'til dawn.

What I'm trying to say
Is I love you and I miss you
And I'm so sorry
That I did you wrong.

Look up Darlin'
Let me kiss you
Just for old time sake
Let me hold you
In my arms one more time.

Thank you Darlin'
May God bless you
And may each step you take
Bring you closer
To the things you seem to find.

Goodbye Darlin'
Gotta go now
Gotta try to find a way
To lose these memories
Of a love so warm and true.

And if you should ever find it
In your heart to forgive me
Come back Darlin'
I'll be waitin' for you...
