This brilliant musical duo strikes a chord with this emotional and powerful ballad.

Love And Theft first hit the charts with their single "Runaway" in 2009 and have been churning out hits since. Their upbeat single "Angel Eyes" skyrocketed to the top of the charts and only fueled the fire for another hit.

Released in early 2015, "Whiskey On My Breath" is a bittersweet ballad that touches on a deep, personal topic. With compelling lyrics and crisp vocals, this powerful track moves through an agonizing struggle with alcoholism.

"No, I ain't afraid of dying
But what scares me to death,
Is meeting Jesus - with whiskey on my breath."

Through the trials and tribulations of alcoholism, this tune also touches on some Christian roots. Changing from a verse about waking up and killing the rest of a whiskey bottle, the song goes on about sinning and a ticket to Heaven.

"Broke all but one of my Lord's 10
But Jesus died for all my sins
That's how I know I'm getting in"

These two have an amazing knack for painting a vivid picture with their music. Love and Theft's performance of this gripping hardship on the Grand Ole Opry is a one-of-a-kind appearance that any true country fan will love.

LYRICS BELOW

I woke up with a pounding head
With a bottle laying in the bed
There was a little, a little bit left
So I picked it up and I killed the rest

Oh I know I'm going to heaven
But I can't go with me like this
I need to pull myself together
Before then
No I ain't afraid of dying
But what scares me to death
Is meeting Jesus
With whiskey on my breath.

I lost her and all my friends
Broke all but one of my Lord's 10
But Jesus died for all my sins
That's how I know I'm getting in

Oh I know I'm going to heaven
But I can't go with me like this
I need to pull myself together
Before then
No I ain't afraid of dying
But what scares me is meeting Jesus
With whiskey on my breath

Oh I know I'm going to heaven
But I can't go with me like this
I need to pull myself together
Before then
No I ain't afraid of dying
But what scares me is meeting Jesus
With whiskey on my breath
