Left unconscious with a broken jaw and severe lacerations to his face, music producer Dave Brainard is awaiting reconstructive face surgery as a result of an assault on September 27, 2015.
Brainard is one of Nashville's hottest young producers. He's earned a Grammy nomination for his work on Brandy Clark’s “12 Stories” album, and produced for country artists like Jerrod Niemann and Jamey Johnson.
He is now conscious, and police are searching for a man and woman involved in the incident who left the scene. The assault took place in Nashville on Demonbreun Street at a crosswalk. Brainard and two women were walking and one was hit by a gray four-door Infinity.
According to The Tennessean, Deborah DeLoach is Brainard's friend and the woman who was struck by the vehicle. She stated the car kept moving slowly after hitting her before the woman in the passenger seat, got out of the car.
At this point, the physical altercation began with the male driver repeatedly punching and then choking Brainard until he was unconscious.
“He’s having surgery,” DeLoach said. “His jaw on both sides is broken. He has lacerations on his chin and lip. His teeth are shattered in the back. He’s going to make it, but he is not doing well and has severe injuries to his face.”
Delocach was also assaulted in the altercation by the male and female perpetrators, who reportedly hit, choked, and kneed her in the face.
Being one of Nashville's own, the entire community is concerned and sending prayers at this time.
