Krista Hughes of Coal City, West Virginia auditioned for Season Nine of The Voice hoping to get one chair to turn. Little did she know, she would win over all the coaches and be one of the few "Four Chair Turns" of the season!

Singing John Prine's "Angel From Montgomery", Hughes starts the song with a soulful sound, and immediately Adam Levine turns his chair for her. A few lyrics later, the rest of the coaches follow suit.

Hughes, who is just 21, has a beautiful country twang and when she said she was from a, "small coal minnin' town," all Levine could say was, "Dammit." He knew Blake Shelton had this in the bag.

"I've got a feeling that some of your influences may not be the stuff that we're hearing on the radio," Shelton said. And he was right! She listed Merle Haggard and George Jones as big influences on her musical style.

"There's nobody out there like that right now," he continues. "And song choice, for you, may be more important than any other artist that is going to audition. You need somebody who can get there with you, so please pick me as your coach!"

Her song choice, "Angel From Montgomery", was originally written and recorded by country/folk singer, John Prine in 1971. Prine wrote the song after a friend suggested he write another song about older people. He believes he was drawn to the city Montgomery because he was a huge fan of Hank Williams, who had ties to the city. The song is now a staple at Williams' granddaughter, Holly Williams' shows. It has been covered by many artists including Carly Simon, John Denver, Tanya Tucker, Dave Matthews Band and Old Crow Medicine Show, just to nam a few.

She, of course, picked the country singing coach, and we're sure she'll have a long road in this competition!

Lyrics Below

I am an old woman named after my mother
My old man is another child that's grown old
If dreams were lightning thunder was desire
This old house would have burnt down a long time ago

Make me an angel that flies from Montgom'ry
Make me a poster of an old rodeo
Just give me one thing that I can hold on to
To believe in this living is just a hard way to go

When I was a young girl well, I had me a cowboy
He weren't much to look at, just free rambling man
But that was a long time and no matter how I try
The years just flow by like a broken down dam.

Make me an angel that flies from Montgom'ry
Make me a poster of an old rodeo
Just give me one thing that I can hold on to
To believe in this living is just a hard way to go

There's flies in the kitchen I can hear 'em there buzzing
And I ain't done nothing since I woke up today.
How the hell can a person go to work in the morning
And come home in the evening and have nothing to say.

Make me an angel that flies from Montgom'ry
Make me a poster of an old rodeo
Just give me one thing that I can hold on to
To believe in this living is just a hard way to go
