McCoy has covered 11 of Pride's hit songs, including one of his most recognizable, "Kiss An Angel Good Mornin'."
"Kiss An Angel Good Mornin'" was released by Pride in 1971 as the first single off his album Charley Pride Sings Heart Songs. The song was Pride's eighth #1 country hit and was also his first single to reach the pop charts, peaking at the 21st spot.
McCoy released his rendition of Pride's hit song in 2013 off of his album Pride: A Tribute to Charley Pride. In addition to "Kiss An Angel Good Mornin'", the album also features covers of "Roll On Mississippi" and "Someone Loves You Honey."
In the video below, McCoy is performing his version of "Kiss An Angel Good Mornin'" in 2014 at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel in Tama, Iowa.
It's clear that McCoy really enjoys singing the song, as he rocks back and forth to the beat and smiles at the crowd throughout the performance. The crowd also gets into the song, clapping and singing along with McCoy.
We're sure that Pride is honored to have his hit song covered by an artist who loves it as much as McCoy.
