NBC's 'The Voice' has produced 8 champions so far, but none have yet hit super-stardom. Thanks to CWB, we may know why.

Season 7 winner, Craig Wayne Boyd, is speaking out about how life after 'The Voice' isn't all it's cracked up to be. By winning the show, each singer is awarded a record contract.

He revealed to Las Vegas Journalist Doug Elfman that when he showed up at his new record label, and they had no clue who he was.

Since he had been in the music scene for the ten years prior to competing on the show, he knew after winning 'The Voice', he would need someone on his side to fight for him. He hired a lawyer from the get-go, someone he met while filming the singing competition show.

"It's solely because of the attorney I picked," the country singer said. "It's the one we chose while we were on 'The Voice.' I brought him on as our attorney, and he's done quite well for other artists in the pop world and the dance world, with DJs."

Although his lawyer had never worked in the country music genre, he helped Boyd, "navigate through all of the crazy contracts that were there, and we were able to get out of them."

Adam Levine has previously spoken out on The Howard Stern Show about his dislike of what happens to the singers after filming is over. "When the baton is passed post-‘Voice,’ there’s some problems. People take over after we do this great job of building these people up on the show. There’s some real issues there," he said.

Boyd refused to give up on himself even though his label already had. He told his management, "Listen guys, we're going to do this our way. If (record execs) catch up and they keep up with us, then awesome. And if they don't, we're going to move forward."

In March this year, he announced he began recording his first album after "The Voice."

Boyd revealed he just finished recording his album, and did it on his own. His newest single "I'm Still Here" is a testament to his fighting spirit. Take a listen to it below.

Lyrics Below

I'm a believer
There's a song in me that's begging to be heard
Yes, I'm a dreamer
Hanging on to hope for everything it's worth
So I skipped a few meals and slept in my car
When you're down that road
They don't care who you are
It's who you know now
Oh, but look at me now

I'm still here
Standing strong
Giving it my all
'Cause that's just who I am

I won't give up
I don't know what that means
It's not inside of me
To pack my bag
To turn my back
Walk away just like that
And disappear
I'm still here

I'm a believer
But I got to be where the marquee holds my name
'Cause I'm a singer
So I moved town to town
Stage to stage
But my son's at home
And he's too young to know
Why sometimes daddy's have to go
So I pour into his heart and said
Son, when you need me
Right here is where I'll be

I'm still here
Standing strong
Giving it my all
'Cause that's just who I am

I won't give up
I don't know what that means
It's not inside of me
To pack my bag
To turn my back
Walk away just like that
And disappear
I'm still here
