Anyone who watched the 2015 CMA Awards could clearly tell that Miranda Lambert was having an abnormal night.

The awards were the first time that Lambert and ex-husband Blake Shelton saw each other since their divorce this summer. Not only that, but the same day, news broke that Shelton has stated dating his fellow Voice coach, Gwen Stefani

Although Shelton and Lambert didn't speak to one another, both of them had performances, and it seems Lambert was trying to say something through hers.

Lambert chose to perform her song "Bathroom Sink," from her 2014 album, Platinum. The song's lyrics tell the story of a woman who tries to hold it together as she "puts on her face" and gets ready standing in front of her bathroom sink.

According to an E! News insider, that's exactly what Lambert did for the CMA's. The insider says that she put on a strong face during her performance, but as soon as the curtain dropped she rushed off stage and burst into tears.

Hollywood Life states that in a former interview in 2014, Lambert revealed that she could really connect to the song, since she knows how hard it is to put on a strong face when everything is going wrong:

“It’s exhausting… all the stuff that goes into just going out into public sometimes. I wish I could just not do it for a day and see what happens. The ‘Bathroom Sink‘ is the place where every women has to face who she really is and who she wants to be.”

Considering her mood and all of the drama with Shelton, it seems that Lambert's song choice was too fitting for the situation to just be a random decision on her part. After all, the song isn't even one of her singles, so it wasn't that well-known before.

Watch Lambert's emotional CMA performance of her heartbreaking song, "Bathroom Sink" in the video below.

What do you think? Did Lambert chose the song on purpose?

LYRICS BELOW

Puttin' on my makeup
Puttin' off the hard stuff
Hopin' that it passes
Fake smile & eyelashes
I wash my hands and try not to think
Or dirty up my bathroom sink

I'm at it again with mama
Everybody's so tired of the drama
We're still fightin' like I'm sixteen
And I guess we always will be
She taught me how to pray and drink
And how to clean the bathroom sink

It's amazin', the amount of rejection
That I see in my reflection
And I can't get out of the way
I'm lookin' forward to the girl I wanna be
But regret has got a way of starin' me right in the face
So I try not to waste too much time
At the bathroom sink

It all gets complicated
And sometimes overrated
Glamour at it's finest
Just means someone's hidin'
From their own reality
And the mirror at their bathroom sink

It's amazin', the amount of rejection
That I see in my reflection
And I can't get out of the way
I'm lookin' forward to the girl I wanna be
But regret has got a way of starin' me right in the face
So I try not to waste too much time
At the bathroom sink

I pray as I get ready
For God to make me steady
And I thank Him for His patience
And I take my medication
And bless this day and all it brings
And I clean up the bathroom sink
