Taking to social media recently, the singer most notable for her resounding similarity to Patsy Cline, LeAnn Rimes asks for prayers for her family from fans.

The award-winning singer and songwriter has reached out to fans and friends in her time of need. Her father has just received devastating news from his doctor that he needs to undergo open-heart surgery

In her post she talks about how her own heart is being pulled in many different directions with the news.

Rimes and her father, Wilbur, had worked closely during her career as the youngest country star since Tanya Tucker debuted in the '70s.

In 2007, Rimes co-wrote all the music for her ninth album Family and critics loved it. The amazing album helped nominate Rimes for the ACM's coveted "Top Female Vocalist" award in the year that followed.

We are sending well-wishes and keeping Rimes and her father in our thoughts.

Check out the video below for her incredibly moving song "Family" from her album of the same name.

LYRICS BELOW

Mama's cryin' again, her baby's nowhere to be found
The world has gone and taken her away
Daddy went and ran off with some white trash half his age
Left me at home to pay for his mistakes

And my sister held my hand
When that bad boy broke my heart
Ain't no miles, ain't no man
Could ever tear us apart

Now here I stand on roots that deep
We laugh, we cry, we hurt, we bleed
The best of friends and worst enemies
We're all to blame, we're all the same
Make no apologies, this is my family
Yeah, this is my family

I can't forget the night that Uncle William passed away
We we're forced to recognize his weird disease
I ran away and ran around with a man twice my age
Ain't it funny how some things never change

Now here I stand on roots that deep
We laugh, we cry, we hurt, we bleed
The best of friends and worst enemies
We're all to blame, we're all the same
Make no apologies, this is my family

And don't you try to shame that name
'Cause till the death I will defend
Yeah, the blood runs through my veins
It's where I start and where I'll end

Now here I stand on roots that deep
We laugh, we cry, we hurt, we bleed
The best of friends and worst enemies
We're all to blame, we're all the same
Make no apologies, this is my family

Yeah, this is my family
Whoa, we call this family
Yeah, this is my family
