Glen Campbell's family has taken their experience with Alzheimer's disease and are using it to spread awareness.

On Monday, Glen's wife, Kim, spoke at the Alzheimer's Education Symposium in Denver. She was joined by their daughter Ashley, and their goal is to let other families affected by the disease to know that they are not alone.

Campbell, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011, is currently in a special care facility in Nashville. According to Kim, the disease is progressing and it has affected his ability to see and speak.

The Campbell family is currently focused on spending as much time with him as possible. "There's that connection that you still have with him, all of us do," Kim said. "Then it makes you miss him. It's painful, it's really painful to lose somebody you love to this disease."

Glen's family knows he would proud of them raising awareness about the disease. "I just want people to remember him in that he was a very passionate and talented man that gave all of himself to the ones that he loved," Ashley said.

November is Alzheimer's Disease Awareness and Caregivers Month, and the Campbell's are taking the opportunity to use their fame for good.

Ashley is also a singer and recently wrote a song about her father called "Remembering."

Take a listen to the heart-wrenching song below.
