Miranda Lambert decided to keep it classic during her Grand Ole Opry appearance on October 6, 2015.
Lambert has made it clear in the past the she has a great admiration for Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. She even named two of her beloved dogs after the legendary duo, recently posting a picture of the two of them following a doggie spa day.
Since Lambert admires Jennings and Colter so much, it explains why she chose to sing their classic duet "Storms Never Last" during her Opry appearance.
Jennings and Colter married in 1969 and continued to collaborate on musical projects until Jennings' death in 2002. "Storms Never last" was just one of the many projects they worked on together, and was released in 1981 off of the couple's duet album Leather and Lace.
Lambert's Opry performance is considerably more toned down than some of her past performances, but still highly entertaining. She stays true to the song's classic country style, swaying back and forth as she strums along on her acoustic guitar.
You can watch Lambert's performance of "Storms Never Last" in the video below, along with a vintage clip and Jennings and Colter's original version of the song.
We love all of Lambert's music, so of course we're big fans of her classic country sound in this performance!
