The country music community is a tight knit group. Almost everyone is considered family, and even when big changes come about they stick together.
While on the red carpet at the American Music Awards, Carrie Underwood stopped to chat with Entertainment Tonight. She talked about her new life as a mom to 8 month old Isaiah, and she discussed the continuing hot topic of Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.
While admitting that Isaiah is the best thing she and her husband Mike Fisher have ever done, Underwood explained her new outlook on life.
"At the end of the day, no matter what I'm a mom," she said. "No matter how things go tonight -- if I win, if I lose, if I do great in my performance, if I don't -- I still get to go home to him. It just makes everything, I don't want to say less important because this is such an incredible night and I'm excited to be a part of it, but the mom card just trumps everything."
Underwood also opened up about the biggest news in country music. Lambert and Underwood have been friends and collaborators for years, and even in light of Lambert's divorce from Shelton in July 2015 there is still a sense of family.
"Well, I only saw both at the CMAs last, but you know they're both amazing people," Underwood said. "And I think, above all, us country folk, our community, we're family and we just want everybody to be happy."
We're happy to here that no matter what, at the end of the day, the country community stands by all of its members. We wish nothing but the best for them!
