Scott is an aspiring singer-songwriter from Louisiana, who entered the country music scene in 2013. He hasn't released any official albums at this time, but has released a handful of singles and an EP.
His debut single, "Makin' This Boy Go Crazy" has been his biggest hit so far, almost making its way into the top 50 on the Billboard U.S. Country Airplay chart.
Although Scott is more of a modern-style artist, he has an appreciation for the classics, particularly Whitley. Scott took to Facebook to post his cover of Whitley's romantic song "Ten Feet Away," calling the legendary singer "timeless" in his caption.
"Ten Feet Away" was first released by Whitley in 1986 off of his album L.A. to Miami. The song broke into the top 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, peaking at the 9th spot.
Scott stays true to the tune's classic style, and really the only major difference between his version and Whitley's is the fact that Scott has a much deeper voice. But that change is just enough to make the cover truly his own.
You can watch Scott perform his rendition of "Ten Feet Away" in the video below, along with a video Whitley's original version.
What do you think of Scott's version? We have to admit, we're loving it!
