Even before any lyrics are sung, "Sweet Home Alabama" has audiences cheering. From the first note Lynyrd Skynyrd plays on the guitar, this song gets everyone on their feet and clapping along.

This particular performance is no different, except for country's own bad boy Brantley Gilbert being added into the mix. The already iconic song gets a country cross-over, which is pure perfection. Gilbert's gritty vocals added to the southern anthem is one of the best musical moves we've ever seen...or heard!

"Sweet Home Alabama" was included on Lynyrd Skynyrd's 1974 album, Second Helping. It reached #8 on the charts and is the band's second hit single. It was written in reply to Neil Young's "Southern Man" and "Alabama".

Gilbert and Lynyrd Skynyrd take command of the stage and the audience loves every second of it, and so do we! We have CMT Crossroads to thank for pairing Gilbert and Lynyrd Skynyrd together. Throughout the night, they performed several of each of their hits including Gilbert's "Country Must Be Country Wide", "One Hell Of An Amen", and "Bottoms Up".

Watch the amazing performance below!

Lyrics Below

Big wheels keep on turning
Carry me home to see my kin
Singing songs about the Southland
I miss Alabamy once again
And I think its a sin, yes

Well I heard mister Young sing about her
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around anyhow

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

In Birmingham they love the gov' nor (boo, boo, boo)
Now we all did what we could do
Now Watergate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you?
Tell the truth

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Here I come Alabama

Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

Sweet home Alabama
Oh sweet home baby
Where the skies are so blue
And the guv'nor's true
Sweet Home Alabama
Lordy
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Yea, yea Montgomery's got the answer
