Monday night's (Nov. 30) episode of The Voice was filled with powerful and emotional performances, including one by coach Gwen Stefani that moved the entire audience, especially her new boyfriend Blake Shelton.
Stefani took to the stage to perform her new hit single "I Used To Love You," which she released just a few months after her divorce from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. The song is about the anger and hurt that comes along with a breakup, so it makes sense why the song would have a personal meaning to Stefani.
During her Voice performance, Stefani emerged on stage wearing a flowing white gown and simple makeup, giving her an angelic appearance. Surrounding her on stage were a bunch of white, flowering trees, adding further to the stunning appearance of the performance.
Prior to the show, Shelton told Entertainment Tonight and fellow coach Pharrell Williams that he had already seen Stefani's gorgeous dress.
"Wait till you see...I saw what she's going to be wearing for this performance tonight, it's going to be stunning...so beautiful," Shelton says.
During her performance, Stefani sang through tears, clearly feeling the emotion in the song. Once she was finished the crowd exploded with applause, and her fellow coaches gave her a standing ovation.
When the camera focused on Shelton, he had a slight smile on his face, but you could also see a few tears in his eyes as well, which goes to show how moved he was by his new love's performance.
We can't blame Shelton for getting choked up, Stefani's performance really was stunning.
