Where did Elvis Presley learn all those moves?

If there is one music video that really showcases his hip-shaking signature moves, its "Jailhouse Rock". The 1950's classic has remained a hit song for decades, completely transcending generations and remaining relevant!

The fun and upbeat, "Jailhouse Rock" was released along with Presley's movie Jailhouse Rock in 1957. It is considered one of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and has remained a hit spanning generations. "Jailhouse Rock" reached #1 that very same year on December 2, 1957 and continued the trend of topping the charts overseas.

The King of Rock and Roll is legend for many reasons. His suave persona, dance moves, and irresistibly good looks made him a star. "Jailhouse Rock" was just one of the many stepping stones that led to a never-ending career for Presley.

To this day, almost 40 years since his passing, Presley remains a music icon. Earlier this year the newest music from The King was released. With a new spin on old classics, the compilation of songs on the album If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is astounding. He has truly redefined the term "legend" and his music is just another way to keep his spirit alive.

Listen to the classic, "Jailhouse Rock" below!

LYRICS BELOW

The warden threw a party in the county jail.
The prison band was there and they began to wail.
The band was jumpin' and the joint began to swing.
You should've heard those knocked out jailbirds sing.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone,
Little Joe was blowin' on the slide trombone.
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, bang,
the whole rhythm section was the Purple Gang.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Number forty-seven said to number three:
"You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.
I sure would be delighted with your company,
come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me."
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

The sad sack was a sittin' on a block of stone
way over in the corner weepin' all alone.
The warden said, "Hey, buddy, don't you be no square.
If you can't find a partner use a wooden chair."
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.

Shifty Henry said to Bugs, "For Heaven's sake,
no one's lookin', now's our chance to make a break."
Bugsy turned to Shifty and he said, "Nix nix,
I wanna stick around a while and get my kicks."
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.
