Merle Haggard has been feeling a little under the weather recently, but a new photo posted to the singer's Facebook page shows that he may be on the mend.
On December 3, it was announced that Merle had entered a California hospital to receive treatment for pneumonia. Merle was forced to postpone the concerts he had scheduled for the rest of that week, but remained hopeful that he would be able to get back on the road this week.
However, in a post to Merle's Facebook updating fans on his condition, it was revealed that Haggard is still recovering, and that he has to postpone all of his remaining December concert dates.
Merle's youngest son Ben, who tours with his father as his lead guitarist, asked for prayers for his father following the news of his hospital stay. Since then, fans have been anxiously waiting for an update on Merle's condition.
Finally, Merle took to his Facebook to share a picture from the hospital and thank his fans for their love and support. Merle is seen sitting on a couch, wearing a hospital robe and a baseball cap. But you can tell he is feeling better, because he's playing his guitar!
Merle himself said that the photo was a good indicator of how he's feeling, captioning it "This picture speaks for itself on how I'm doing."
It is definitely a good sign to see Merle playing his guitar! Hopefully he gets to feeling better soon so that he can continue his tour, and play some of his hit songs like "Mama Tried."
We continue to send our prayers to Merle for a speedy and full recovery!
