This classic Christmas carol gets taken to a whole new level when these legends take the stage!
Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers invited friends Lee Greenwood and T.G. Sheppard onstage during their concert for Gaylord Opryland's A Country Christmas. They sang a beautiful version of "Silent Night" that we know y'all will love!
"Silent Night" is one of those all-time Christmas favorites. Written in 1818 by Austrian songwriters, the hit has spanned generations. Although it has been covered by many artists, Bing Crosby's 1935 version is the third best selling single of all time. Not bad for a Christmas carol!
The Gatlins, Greenwood, and Sheppard have been longtime pals. They have performed together on tour, the Grand Ole Opry, and award shows for many years. This special holiday inspired performance showcases great friends coming together to do what they love most.
The best part is, Greenwood and Sheppard were in the audience for the show, but joined the Gatlins onstage for an impromptu performance. Awesome!
Watch their beautiful rendition of "Silent Night" below.
Silent night, Holy night All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin, mother and child Holy infant, tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, Holy night Son of God, love's pure light Radiant beams from thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord at thy birth Jesus, Lord at thy birth.
Silent night, Holy night Shepherds quake, at the sight Glories stream from heaven above Heavenly, hosts sing Hallelujah. Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born.
Great night at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center for our Christmas show!! Our good buddies Lee Greenwood (Official) and TG Sheppard showed up so we decided to bring them on stage.
