Trace Adkins is a country legend with a unique connection to Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Adkins stopped by WWJ Newsradio 950 in Detroit on Wednesday and opened up about Trump's campaign for President.
Adkins appeared on the "Celebrity Apprentice", where he took second place. Adkins came back to compete in "All-Star Celebrity Apprentice", which he ended up winning.
Trump's campaign has been controversial from the get-go, and Adkins thinks Trump is having the time of his life.
"Oh, I think he's having a blast," he says. "I think he's enjoying every second of this, you know, knowing him."
Because of his connection to Trump, everyone always asks Adkins about him.
"It's funny how people ask me, 'What's Trump doing? Like I know, like he calls me every day. I have no idea what he's doing, but it certainly is entertaining to watch."
While he didn't disclose if he would be voting for Trump or not, he says Trump would work extremely hard, if he did win.
“I’ve told people, too, you know…I think that if the world turned upside down and he actually won, he would be very serious about it. I think that the gravity of the situation at some point would hit him, and he would deal with the situation in a much more mature way.”
He declined to comment on Trump's most recent proposal to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S.
