In a rare 1992 interview with an old friend, Conway Twitty answers questions from adoring fans about the music he's made, his favorite songs to sing, and even about his curly locks.

To begin the interview, the host asks Conway a question about what his favorite song he's ever recorded was. Conway seems stumped, but says "Songs are like friends to me, and if you've got a handful of really good friends, it's hard to say which one's the best."

This rare glimpse into Conway's life shows us just what kind of appeal he had at that time with his fans, and how humble he really was.

The interviewer pauses and continues, "This question, I had nothing to do with, but you know, I tell you that right up front." He reads the question a curious Conway fan was thinking, and asks, "Is Conway's hair naturally curly?"

Conway, being the witty and personable country artist we knew him to be, responds with, "It's naturally curly after I get done puttin' those rollers in."
Conway laughs at his response and shoots a silly smile towards the audience. He adds, "But it's natural hair, all hair."

After the questions, Conway takes the stage and sings "Who Did They Think He Was", and he knocks it out of the park.

Check out the hilarious interview below, and see for yourself how humble and composed Conway is through all the questioning.

There will never be anyone like Conway Twitty, and fans all around the world still miss the iconic and talented singer.

Curly hair or not, Conway Twitty left a mark on the country music world, and he'll never be forgotten.

Rest in peace to the legend, Conway.

LYRICS BELOW

A child was born in Tupelo
In 1935
I'm grateful for his music
It forever changed my life

Oh, I loved, 'Love me tender'
And how that boy could sing
But when he died I wondered why
Millions called him, 'King'

Tell me, who did they think
Who did they think he was?
Who did they think
Who did they think he was?

The whole world bowed and prayed
But it only made me say
Who did they think
Who did they think he was?

He was born in Massachusetts
In 1917
The second son of an Irishman
Oh, we all loved Kennedy

He was brave and strong and handsome
A helluva a president
But when he died
Millions cried like he was heaven sent

Tell me who did they think
Who did they think he was?
Who did they think
Who did they think he was?

The whole world bowed and prayed
But it only made me say
Who did they think
Who did they think he was?

There was a Child of heaven
Born in Bethlehem
Just a simple Carpenter
With worn and calloused hands

Oh, He healed the hearts of many
So they nailed Him to a tree
With no one left to mourn His death
But the women at His feet

Crying, who did they think
Who did they think He was
Who did they think
Who did they think He was?

There was no one left to grieve
But the women at His feet
Crying, who did they think
Who did they think He was?

Who did they think
Who did they think He was?
