Even though she is currently one of the hottest names in country music, Miranda Lambert's parents Richard and Beverly are still her two biggest fans.
On September 3, 2015, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra announced in a media release that it had selected Miranda as the 2015 recipient of the "Harmony Award." Each year, the orchestra gives the award to "an individual who best exemplifies the harmonious spirit of Nashville’s musical community."
Miranda was honored during the orchestra's Symphony Ball, which took place on December 13, and also had the chance to perform along with the Grammy Award-winning orchestra.
After Miranda learned that she would be receiving the award, she expressed how much she was looking forward to performing with the group:
"I have always felt that music is universal no matter what genre, and being recognized by the Nashville Symphony as a Harmony Award recipient is an honor. And the icing on the cake is I get to perform a few of my songs with the Symphony orchestra, which is such a rare and out-of-this- world musical opportunity. I look forward to an amazing night and a heartfelt thank you."
Miranda had two very special guests with her at the ball, none other than her parents Richard and Beverly. Prior to her performance, Miranda shared a picture of her posing with her parents behind the scenes, with all of them wearing their finest formal attire.
"Mom and Dad are lookin' fancy!!" she captioned the photo in part, using the hashtag #rednecksandwhiteties.
We think Miranda and her parents look great! How about you?
One of Miranda's songs that caught the attention of the Nashville Symphony Orchestra is her Grammy-nominated 2014 single, "Automatic." Until we're able to see a video of her performance with the orchestra, enjoy watching the official music video for "Automatic" below.
Congratulations to Miranda on a well-deserved Harmony Award from the Nashville Symphony Orchestra!
