The last couple of weeks have been exciting ones for Joey and Rory Feek. The couple received their first Grammy nomination for their rendition of “If I Needed You,” a song that they recorded and set to a video of their daughter’s birth. The surprising news made an already determined Joey even more determined to live until February to see the Grammys, her daughter’s second birthday, and the release of Joey+Rory’s new album.
Just a few days after the Grammy announcement, Joey mustered up the strength to get out of bed and walk into the family’s living room. This was a huge feat considering that the singer hadn’t been able to leave her bed for weeks prior.
Just last week, Joey’s husband, Rory, shared yet another milestone that the family is celebrating: Their daughter Indiana’s 22-month birthday. In a photo shared to Facebook, Joey is beaming as she gives her daughter bedtime kisses. The caption reads, “...birthday bed-time kisses from Mama. Good night little one, today you are 22 months old.”
Joey Feek was diagnosed with Stage IV cervical cancer in July and chose to stop receiving treatments in October after being told that there was nothing else medically that could be done for her. Joey, Rory, their family and friends, and hundreds of thousands of new fans are praying for a miraculous healing for Joey during this holiday season.
