The holiday season almost always brings family memories to the forefront. For Ashley Campbell this time of year is special, despite her father being in the late stages of Alzheimer's disease.
In 2011, Ashley's father and country music legend, Glen Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. He has recently been moved into an assisted care facility by his wife Kim and family. According to Ashley, Glen is happy and living in "a world of love".
In an interview with The Tennessean, Ashley touched on some of her fondest Christmas memories, and also talked about her father's current state of health.
“He is in the late stages of Alzheimer's, so he isn't aware of what is going on, or where he is. But what I think is really the bright side, is that even if he's in his own world, it's a world of love... The best we can hope for is that he is happy."
She loves listening to her father's Christmas album- one of her admitted favorites. Joined by a bluegrass band, Ashley performed the Christmas classic, "Winter Wonderland".
