Talent definitely runs in the Haggard family.

Merle Haggard's son, Scott, has always looked up to his famous father and as you will soon see, music is in his blood. After taking some time away from music to raise his family, Scott decided, in 2006, he wanted to pursue a music career, just like his daddy.

According to his Facebook page, "listening to his dad’s music gave him inspiration to write his own songs."

He has performed with many country artists including Jeff Bates, Mark Wills, Sarah Darling, Colt Ford, and Kenny Olson Cartel.

He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada and has recorded his popular original song, "Living in the Shadow of Merle", which was released on his debut CD in 2012.

He covers some of his dad's music and they sound eerily alike. Scott also looks just like Merle!

In this video, Scott introduces the song he is about to play. "I'm gonna do a little number here that was recorded by over 400 artists," he says. "One of my daddy's number one hits."

He, of course, is talking about Merle's 1968 song, "Today I Started Loving You Again". Like Scott mentioned, the song is covered by many artists.

"Today I Started Loving You Today" was the B-side of Merle's number one song "The Legend of Bonnie and Clyde" and actually failed to chart even though it is one of his most popular songs. Since its release it has become a staple of classic country music and is his most covered song.

Merle wrote the song with his then-wife, singer Bonnie Owens, and has acknowledged that the song was about a sudden burst of feelings he felt for her while they were touring together.

Watch Scott's performance below.

Lyrics Below

Today I Started Loving You Again
I'm right back where I've really always been;
I got over you just long enough to let my heartache mend,
then Today I Started Loving You Again.

What a fool I was to think I could get by
With only these few million tears I've cried.
I should have known the worst was yet to come.
And that crying time for me had just begun.

'Cause Today I Started Loving You Again,
I'm right back where I've really always been;
I got over you just long enough to let my heartache mend,
then Today I Started Loving You Again.
