Rainey Qualley was basically destined for stardom. The actress and aspiring country singer is the daughter of famous actress Andie MacDowell, and as she tells Fox 411, she always figured she'd break into the entertainment industry as a result.

"I definitely always wanted to sing and, I don’t know, I never really imagined doing anything else and it just was kind of like normal for our family," she says.

Qualley released her debut country EP in June 2015 along with her first single "Turn Me On Like the Radio." She also was given the opportunity of a lifetime when she got the chance to open two shows for Willie Nelson at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

"The entire experience was very surreal, looking back," she says. "I can’t really believe I got to do that it was awesome."

Recently, Qualley had the chance to perform one of Nelson's songs during the Grand Ole Opry special "Live At The Lounge." So what was the song? Well, none other than Nelson's number one hit "Always On My Mind."

However, Nelson was not the first person to record the song. It was originally released in 1972 as a duet between Brenda Lee and Gwen McCrae, and was also a Top Five hit for Elvis Presley. In total, dozens of artists have recorded the song, but Nelson's version remains one of the most recognizable.

Qualley keeps her cover of the song simple, standing front and center while a lone acoustic guitarist plays in the background. She has great control over her range and tone, sometimes showing off a deep raspiness to her voice and at other times raising her voice to hold out a long, high note.

You can watch Qualley's astounding performance in the video below. Surely Nelson would be proud.

We're definitely looking forward to hearing more from Qualley in the future!

LYRICS BELOW

Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I could have
And maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
If I made you feel second best
Girl I'm sorry I was blind

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

And maybe I didn't hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
I guess I never told you
I am so happy that you're mine
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Tell me
Tell me that your sweet love hasn't died
And give me
Give me one more chance to keep you satisfied
I'll keep you satisfied

Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
