Every season on American Idol, there are certain auditions that no one can stop talking about. This final season, it was 15-year-old Tristan McIntosh's audition that absolutely captivated the judges and the nation.

Tristan, who is from Nashville, Tennessee, has been dreaming of becoming a singer since she was ten years old. Since then she says that there has always been one person who has encouraged her to chase her dreams, her mom, Amy.

However, as much as she wanted to, Amy couldn't be there for her daughter's American Idol audition. Amy is a Major in the Army, and is currently serving overseas in the Middle East.

"It's just a really weird feeling that she's not here for something of this magnitude," Tristan said in a clip prior to her audition.

Even though Tristan was sad that her mom couldn't be there, she knew that she'd be with her in spirit.

"I just want to make my mom proud," she said. "She's sacrificed so much."

Tristan walked into the audition room and introduced herself to the judges, who were surprised to hear how young she is. She also told them about her mom before she sat down at a piano and started to sing country singer Mickey Guyton's song "Why Baby Why."

For someone so young, Tristan has unbelievable control of her voice. You can also feel the emotion behind her voice with each word she sings, making her performance incredibly powerful.

The judges stared at Tristan in awe as she sang, and had nothing put positive things to say to her following her audition.

"You've got so many things that are all coming together as an artist," said judge Keith Urban. "And at 15, you have so much talent Tristan."

Then, judge Harry Connick Jr. told Tristan he had letter to read to her from a special someone, her mom. The letter read:

"Dear Tristan, just wanted to e-mail you today and wish you good luck with your audition. You've always called me your big hero, but today, you are my big hero, because you are doing something that you've dreamed about since you were ten years old. Do your best today, and most importantly, have fun."

After Harry finished reading the letter, Tristan broke down in tears, as Keith wiped his own tears away from his eyes.

You'll have to watch the clip below to see what happens next. We guarantee you'll be unable to control your own tears by the end of Tristan's audition.
