Sentenced to four months in jail, Michael O'Rourke, had previous run-ins with the law over his repeated blaring of Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash.

O'Rourke, a Peterhead, Scotland resident recently has been sentenced to a four-month jail term after continuing to violate noise ordinances and disturbing his neighbors by blasting classic country music from his home stereo system.

The Scot is partially deaf, but is also one of the biggest country music connoisseurs living in his town and has been known to have a seemingly-endless collection of vinyl records to support his habit. The problem is, he has a strong inclination to listen to his collection at the loudest possible volume - regardless of the time of day.

Coined the "oldest raver in town" by a local sheriff, he has had several previous encounters with law enforcement over his listening habits and was even slapped with an "anti-social behavior order" or ASBO.  The ASBO is a civil order against a person who has been shown to have engaged in "anti-social behavior", often used to control disturbances such as noise pollution, rioting, begging, disturbing the peace, drunken behavior, among others.

O'Rourke's playing of Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and other classic country artists (at unheard-of volume levels) has caused sheriffs to seize his record player in an effort to stop him, however, he simply replaced it with a CD player and continued to jam out. It was notated that he even woke one of his neighbors at 1:30 a.m. with his musical antics.

This week, the mid-fifties gent appeared in court where he admitted to playing his country music too loudly, and was then sentenced to four months in jail. The judge weighed in with some heavy comments for O'Rourke.

“This is the sort of behavior that when it does occur is expected to come from a teenager living away from their parents for the first time. This course of conduct from you—a man of 56—is appalling. You must have lost sound equipment worth thousands of pounds over the years due to forfeitures. I don’t think there is any other option than a fairly long prison sentence.”

Each of the country fan's previous seven noise ordinance violations resulted in a deferred sentence by the judge due to good behavior, but it looks as if this time he will be seeing a different outcome.

Check out one of Dolly Parton's major 70's hits, "Jolene" in the video below!

LYRICS BELOW

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him even though you can

Your beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green

Your smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you, Jolene

He talks about you in his sleep
There's nothing I can do to keep
From crying when he calls your name, Jolene

And I can easily understand
How you could easily take my man
But you don't know what he means to me, Jolene

Jolene, Jolene
Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him just because you can

You could have your choice of men
But I could never love again
He's the only one for me, Jolene

I had to have this talk with you
My happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do, Jolene

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him even though you can
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
