Carrie Underwood knows a thing or two about covering a song. It is how she won American Idol in 2005.
When putting together her set list for her 2012 Blown Away Tour, she included a song originally sung by British rock band Coldplay called "Fix You".
"Fix You" was included on Coldplay's 2005 album X&Y. Their lead singer, Chris Martin, was inspired to write it for his then-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, after her father passed away.
He sings words of encouragement to Paltrow in the lyrics "Lights will guide you home/And ignite your bones/And I will try to fix you."
Underwood performed an unplugged version of this incredible song for VH1 in 2012, and while no version will ever hold a candle to the original, she does an amazing job.
Underwood performs the song with all the right emotions necessary for such a meaningful song. The only thing better than her version would be if she and Coldplay sang the song together.
