Kenny Chesney and Kid Rock's styles differ, but when singing on the same track, you know they were meant to duet.

The two singers joined forces to cover a classic Waylon Jennings song called "Luckenbach, Texas".

"If you had one spot on the earth you could wish for, you could hope for, where would you go?" Kid Rock asked. In unison, they sang "Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas."

"Luckenbach, Texas" was originally released by Jennings in 1977 as the first single from his album Ol' Waylon.

Jennings sings about a couple who is now living a lavish lifestyle, but fights about their relationship and their finances. He references the Hatfields and McCoys, Hank Williams, himself, and Willie Nelson.

The song reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart very quickly, and there's no surprise why. Jennings' version features Nelson on the final chorus.

Chesney and Kid Rock's version is a modern spin on this outlaw country classic. It fits their voices so well that if you had never heard the song before, you'd think it was an original!

Listen to their version below.

Lyrics Below

The only two things in life
That make it worth livin'
Is guitars to tune good
And firm feelin' women

I don't need my name in the marquis lights
I got my song and I got you with me tonight
Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love

Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
With Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin'
Got us feuding like the Hatfields and McCoys

Between Hank Williams pain songs
And Newbury's train songs
And blue eyes cryin' in the rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas
Ain't nobody feelin' no pain

So baby let's sell your diamond ring
Buy some boots and faded jeans and go away
This coat and tie is choking me
In your high society you cry all day

We've been so busy
Keepin' up with the Jones
Four car garage and we're still building on
Maybe it's time we got
Back to the basics of love

Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
With Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin'
Got us feuding like the Hatfields and McCoys

Between Hank Williams pain songs
And Newbury's train songs
And blue eyes cryin' in the rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas
Ain't nobody feelin' no pain

Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
With Willie and Waylon and the boys
This successful life we're livin'
Got us feuding like the Hatfields and McCoys

Between Hank Williams pain songs
And Jerry Jeff's train songs
And blue eyes cryin' in the rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas
There ain't nobody feelin' no pain
