Luke Bryan holds a special place in his heart for "Drink A Beer".

The song was released as his third single from the 2013 album, Crash My Party. The emotional song was co-written by none other than the talented, Chris Stapleton.

Bryan has often referred to "Drink A Beer" as one of his favorites, and feels a stronger connection than most. After the unexpected loss of both his siblings, the song's meaning really hit home for the singer. The lyrics describe the pain felt when after losing a loved one, and the message certainly connected to fans.

It was Bryan's vulnerable delivery of those lyrics that helped the song reach the top spot on multiple country charts. At the 2013 CMA Awards he dedicated a performance to his late brother and sister, later being named one of his most emotional performances to date.

These days the song seems to have taken on a therapeutic role for Bryan and his fans. At nearly every concert he performs the acoustic ballad, encouraging the audience to sing with him. No matter the demographic, everyone seems to connect with the emotional lyrics. While Bryan held a Crash My Playa in Mexico, he invited Stapleton on stage to join him for a duet of "Drink A Beer".

Both artists sing the song with such emotion, and the blending of their vocals is something special. Watch Bryan and Stapleton's live beach duet of "Drink A Beer" below.

LYRICS BELOW

When I got the news today
I didn't know what to say.
So I just hung up the phone.

I took a walk to clear my head,
This is where the walking led
Can't believe you're really gone
Don't feel like going home

So I'm gonna sit right here
On the edge of this pier
Watch the sunset disappear
And drink a beer

Funny how the good ones go
Too soon, but the good Lord knows
The reasons why, I guess

Sometimes the greater plan
Is kinda hard to understand
Right now it don't make sense
I can't make it all make sense

So I'm gonna sit right here
On the edge of this pier
Watch the sunset disappear
And drink a beer

So long my friend
Until we meet again
I'll remember you
And all the times that we used to...

... sit right here on the edge of this pier
And watch the sunset disappear
And drink a beer
Drink a beer,
Drink a beer.
Yeah
