Who says you can't go home?
Scotty McCreery is returning to the place where it all started. He will be back on American Idol for the final season saying farewell to the show that launched his career.
McCreery will be featured on the February 11th episode of American Idol to spend time mentoring the Top 24 contestants, sharing advice and lessons learned from his Idol experience. He will give them some insight to a career in country music, and will also perform a duet with the lucky contestants. Awesome!
In a press release, McCreery talked about how important mentorship was to him during season ten, and his excitement in returning to Idol.
“I remember how important it was to me during my time on Idol to meet and learn from all the great artists who visited the set and offered their advice,” McCreery stated. “I was proud to be able to come back and offer whatever guidance I could to my two talented contestants."
McCreery was the winner of season ten in 2011. He shocked America with that deep, country voice at just 17-years-old. Watch the flashback performance below from the season ten finale. McCreery covered the George Strait classic, "Check Yes Or No".
