Merle Haggard is ready to take the stage again!
After a bout with double pneumonia, Haggard is finally feeling good enough to perform. The illness forced him to postpone many of his shows, some of which he has already rescheduled.
The 78-year-old singer/songwriter returned to the stage over the weekend, playing at the Mandalay Bay Ballroom in Las Vegas with Toby Keith. Fans are extremely happy to see Haggard healthy, and back on the road!
Haggard was initially hospitalized in December 2015 for two weeks, and was later diagnosed with double pneumonia. However, he was concerned that the lung cancer he overcame in 2008 could have returned. Luckily Haggard is now in decent health, and ready to make up for lost time.
Ben Haggard tweeted out "#prayers4merle" just a couple days before his dad was joined on stage with Keith. See his tweet below.
We are so glad, Merle is feeling better! If he was forced to cancel a show in your area, check to see if he'll be back soon.
He has already announced some rescheduled shows in California for Wednesday, February 10th in Santa Rosa, Thursday, February 11th, in Beverley Hills with Kris Kristofferson, and another in Oakland on Saturday.
