At the age of 15, Jeneve Rose Mitchell is already a multi-talented singer and musician, and those talents have earned her a spot in the Top 24 on the final season of American Idol.
Mitchell, who lives "off the grid" in the Colorado wilderness, doesn't have any electricity at her house, so she lives the life of a true country girl in the great outdoors. Her family does have a generator, which they turn on only twice a week to watch American Idol.
When Mitchell isn't enjoying time outside she keeps busy practicing a variety of different instruments, over ten total, including the harp, cello, and even the kazoo.
During her first audition in front of judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick Jr., Mitchell secured her golden ticket to Hollywood with a performance of The Band Perry's "Chainsaw" while playing the cello.
Eventually, the country girl from "off the grid" found herself in the Top 24 on the show, and chose to perform Sarah McLachlan's emotional song "Angel" for her solo performance. This time, Mitchell decided to show off one of her other musical talents, and played the harp while she stood and sang the song.
Mitchell's voice has a maturity and power beyond her years, something which was showcased perfectly in her rendition of "Angel." Not only that, but you can tell she was emotionally connected to her performance, which made it all the more powerful.
Beyond her skills as a singer, Mitchell absolutely excels at playing the harp, which provides a beautiful accompaniment to her performance.
Urban had nothing but praise for Mitchell following her performance, saying, "First of all, you are the real deal. Playing the harp is one thing, but playing it standing up, that's not easy to do. You're extraordinary, you really are. I love the way that you take risks."
Mitchell earned an overwhelming round of applause following her performance, and once you watch it in the video below, you'll see why!
You'll want to listen to this performance again and again, and don't be surprised if it gives you goosebumps every time.
