Scotty McCreery returned to the stage that made him a star during last night's American Idol episode, and his performances are getting mixed reactions.
The North Carolina native performed duets with two of this year's finalists as part of Idol's farewell season celebration. McCreery was joined by former America's Got Talent contestant Jenna Renae for his first duet of the night. The duo performed McCreery's own hit 'See You Tonight.' Unfortunately for Jenna Renae, her love for Scotty overshadowed her immense talent and the judges had harsh words for the singer. Judge Jennifer Lopez simply said, "You did the best you could."
McCreery then took the stage with 15-year old Jeneve Rose Mitchell from Colorado. The two sang Montgomery Gentry's 'Gone' and received a shocked reaction from the judges. Keith Urban seemed especially surprised by the performance, even throwing himself back in his chair and exclaiming "What?" during the song. When the song was over, Urban declared that the performance was "bizarre" and said that he was going to forget that the performance ever happened.
Scotty McCreery was in no way to blame for the negative feedback as his vocals were spot-on. The Season 10 winner reminded us once again just why he won and why we still love him.
Check out Scotty McCreery and Jeneve Rose Mitchell's "bizarre" performance in the video below and let us know what you think. What Keith Urban's assessment correct?
