Interested in having abs like Kenny Chesney? Well here is how you get them.
The secret is in his diet and exercise plan that he takes seriously while on the road. He says this is "the best" he's ever felt, and that started with a healthier lifestyle. At 47-years-old the country star is more serious about his career, health, and lifestyle than ever before.
In an interview with GQ Magazine, Chesney tells all.
"When I was 27, I didn't have to make those [diet/exercise] decisions. Now I do." Chesney said. "If anything takes away from me being able to do that, it's not in my life anymore."
Two contributing factors that changed his life were a brand new treadmill called the Curve, and no more beer. That's right, trade the ice cold beverage for a good sprint! But it doesn't end there. To be his best on stage, Chesney has a weekly guideline when it comes to diet on the road.
Show day diets are intense.
Each day he starts the morning with an egg white scramble, fruit, and a Quest bar. Lunch includes chicken or salmon, paired with a small portion of brown rice, and steamed veggies. Finally he rounds out the day with a dinner of chicken or salmon (whichever he didn't have for lunch) and more veggies! Sunday however, is a day to cheat, and Chesney loves to indulge in Italian or Mexican food. We love Sundays!
As for that workout, Chesney likes to mix it up. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are high in intensity, with a lot of weight lifting. Thursday's are all about cardio, and Friday he counts as a day off but will sometimes make it to a local gym. Now that is dedication! Saturday is show day, so he does a little cardio in the morning, followed by the big event he works so hard toward - 150 minutes of stage time.
So there you have it! Chesney works for those muscles, and he looks great! But if you don't want to give up the beer, we won't judge.
