Written by one of the most talented songwriters in country music and sung by a truly gifted artist, there was no doubt "Break On Me" was destined to be a hit.

Keith Urban's second single from his forthcoming tenth studio album, Ripcord, debuted in late October of 2015 and nailed the No. 5 spot on Billboard's U.S. Country Airplay chart while also coming in on the top position of their Canada Country chart.

Critics praised the song for its overarching theme of being a solid part of a loved one's rocky life and Urban's beautiful delivery of the lyrics. Kevin John Coyne applauded his ability to transform the song, saying, "There isn't another male vocalist who does heartfelt quite as well," and Taste of Country's Billy Dukes raved about it saying that the track is "understated and accessible, like an open-handed invitation that brings the grieving in for a cathartic hug."

Just like the song describes, Urban himself became that pillar of solidity and reassurance for his wife, Nicole Kidman, when her father passed away in 2014. Only time will tell if this helped bring the song onto the Ripcord record, but his deep connection to the song's lyrics are clear in the way he smoothly moves through the song.

Listen to Keith Urban's beautifully crafted balled, "Break On Me" in the video below!

LYRICS BELOW

There'll be days your heart don't wanna beat
You pray more than you breathe
And you just wanna fall to pieces
And nights, those two AM calls
Where dreams become walls
And you just need a break
Break on me

Shatter like glass
Come apart in my hands
Take as long as it takes, girl
Break on me
Put your head on my chest
Let me help you forget
When your heart needs to break
Just break on me

There'll be times when someone you know
Becomes someone you knew
But you'd do anything to change it
And words you wanna take back
But you know you can't
When the page just won't turn
And it still hurts
Break on me

Shatter like glass
Come apart in my hands
Take as long as it takes, girl
Break on me
Put your head on my chest
Let me help you forget
When your heart needs to break
Just break on me

Oh, when you need somebody
When you need somebody right now
You're where I'll be
Break on me

Shatter like glass
Come apart in my hands
Take as long as it takes, girl
Break on me
Put your head on my chest
Let me help you forget
Your heart needs to break, just break on me
Break on me
Break on me, baby
