What a week for Joey + Rory.
The duo and married couple have had a momentous week. They celebrated their daughter, Indiana's second birthday on the 17th, Valentine's Day on the 14th, the Grammy's on the 13th, and the release of their album, Hymns That Are Important To Us, on the 12th.
These were all things Joey + Rory were unsure if Joey would be able to experience a few months ago. Their prayer was to have Joey witness and experience everything this week, and when she did, it was extremely emotional.
Watching her interact with her little girl on her second birthday brought tears to our eyes. Her strength is so apparent and she hasn't lost her faith, either.
With every blog Rory posts, they gain more fans and these fans are loyal. So loyal that just a few days after they released their album, it hit No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart, knocking out Chris Stapleton's Traveller, which has held the top spot for 12 weeks.
They sold 70,000 albums and 68,000 "pure" albums, which helped them hit No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart and No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart!
Joey + Rory recorded Hymns That Are Important To Us while Joey was undergoing chemo and radiation treatment for Stage IV cervical cancer. They recorded any time they could, even setting up a make-shift recording studio in their hotel room for anytime Joey felt up to it.
The album is available at Target, Wal Mart, and Cracker Barrel stores and a CD/DVD version is also available, which includes interviews and live concert footage.
Congratulations, Joey+ Rory! This is well-deserved.
