The country-singing, guitar-playing duo, Joey + Rory debuted their last album Hymns That Are Important To Us on February 19th - the final product of an incredible amount of determination and hard work.
Working through a terminal-cancer diagnosis, the pair was dedicated to completing the album for both their fans and for their faith. The record hit the No. 1 chart position right out of the gate and even amid the incredible fanfare, the couple reaffirm that it has nothing to do with what they have done, but instead - is about their faith.
The husband of the duo, Rory Feek, revealed in a press release that he congratulated his wife on what many believe, is their final accomplishment. Joey Feek has been battling Stage 4 terminal cervical cancer since the middle of last year, and entered at-home hospice care in the recent months.
Of their hit record, Rory says, "This is one that she has always wanted to make, and she’s worked so hard to make it happen, in spite of the difficult circumstances she is facing. As I congratulated her, she responded through tears: ‘No, honey, this is God’s record.'”
Their faith has always been a huge component of their life, but even more so in the last year through their battle with cancer. Although many see their situation as bleak, they are making the absolute best of every moment they have with each other and their now-2-year-old daughter, Indiana.
They share special moments, smiles, happiness, meals, and most importantly - endless love. Joey + Rory have been blessed and have reached several of the milestones they hoped the could reach since her diagnosis.
A deluxe version of Hymns That Are Important To Us is available nationwide at Cracker Barrel restaurants and the standard copy is available for digital download on iTunes.
We are keeping Joey + Rory Feek in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
