Known for their chart hits such as "Wasn't That Drunk" and and "Touch," the Josh Abbott Band is one of the hottest groups in country music right now. But recently, the talented group was forced to face some difficult times.
As lead singer Josh Abbott revealed on Monday (July 25) through a statement on the band's Facebook page, the past weekend was packed with "a series of heavy emotional blows" for the members. Abbott shared that their bass player, James Hertless, lost his grandfather, and that he's now waiting for his funeral to be scheduled.
Hertless wasn't the only member of the band to experience tragedy over the past weekend. In a heartbreaking confession, Abbott also revealed that two of the band members discovered a dead body in Las Vegas in what he described as "a horrific manner."
Abott also faced his own hardships over the weekend...he had an severe allergic reaction that resulted in a trip to the ER. "I thought I was seriously about to die," Abbott wrote in an update on Twitter when he was taken to the ER. "EMS was worried I'd go into cardiac arrest."

The doctors were able to save Abbott, but his vocal cords are still swollen, making it difficult for him to sing.
In light of these unfortunate events, Abbott revealed that the band is canceling all of their visits, events, and shows for the rest of the week. He said that everything will be rescheduled as soon as possible, and estimated that the band would go back on tour next week. In the meantime, Abbott asked their fans for their prayers as they all cope with what occurred over the weekend.
Once the band does resume touring, fans are sure to be in for a treat. They're currently tearing up the charts with their single "Wasn't That Drunk," which you can watch in the clip below.
We're sorry to hear about all of the hardships that The Josh Abbott Band had to face over the weekend. Our prayers go out to all of them during this time.
