At the age of 11, Billy Gilman became the youngest singer to ever have a Top 40 hit on the country charts. 16 years later Gilman is back in the spotlight as he pursues his dream of winning 'The Voice.'
In a video posted to 'The Voice' YouTube page, we get a glimpse of Gilman's blind audition as he sings Adele's "When We Were Young." Coach Adam Levine is the first to turn his chair around, followed by Miley Cyrus. At the end of the performance, both Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys turn around, giving Billy a rare four-chair turn.
Blake and Miley both recognized Gilman from his successful country music career.
“I know Billy. When I was making my first album, that's when 'One Voice' came out and it's crazy, Billy, "Shelton said. "You always wonder whatever happened to somebody, you know? Now you’ve found your sound and where you belong musically, and I'm happy for you man, I really am."
During Miley's turn to speak, Gilman revealed that he had opened for Miley's dad, Billy Ray. The two immediately connected, making us think that perhaps Gilman will choose to be a part of Team Miley. But, we will have to wait until Tuesday's episode to find out who Gilman chooses.
