After ten seasons of working as a coach on The Voice, Blake Shelton decides to work on improving the singing skills of his concert goers.
At a recent concert, Shelton noticed the 29,000 person crowd singing in perfect unison and paused his show to compliment his fans on their musical stylings.
“You guys have really good pitch! For 29,000 people in here it’s unbelievable for that many people to be right on pitch," said Shelton. "I actually think the really good singers are making up for the really sucky ones, and it comes together and that’s cool.”
However, any good coach knows that there is always room for improvement. Shelton went on to give them constructive criticism saying that while they may have perfect pitch, the tone needs some workshopping.
"The thing that bothers me about your singing is just the actual tone of your voices...It's like the sound of your voices is irritating."
The crowd didn't take too kindly to his unsolicted advice and the cheers quickly turned to boos. Shelton fired back at his crowd saying they sound like just "a bunch of hillbillies" before transitioning into his next song "Hillbilly Bone."
