Candace Payne, the Texas mom of two who rose to internet fame with her contagious laughter and Chewbacca mask, is a woman of many talents. Not only did she shatter internet records with her viral Facebook video, but she can sing!
Shortly after her rise to fame it was revealed that "Chewbacca Mom" had once auditioned for The Voice. While she didn't make it to the live show, the news that she could sing invoked curiosity among her new fans. Payne has taken to social media to share covers of some of her favorite songs including a touching rendition of Michael Jackson's "Heal the World" that she sang shortly after the deadly shootings of police officers in Dallas.
Payne's talent hasn't gone unnoticed. Last night (July 22), Payne made her Grand Ole Opry debut, a moment she shared with her fans via Facebook Live. She also shared some news with the help of her new friend, rising country star Dylan Scott.
According to the pair, Payne will be joining Scott and his crew on tour starting next month. Payne will perform with Scott for a indefinite number of dates in August. If you haven't had a chance to hear Candace Payne sing, you're missing out! Check out this video of Candace singing for Dylan Scott backstage at the Opry.
