Conway Twitty's son, Michael Twitty, honored his father in a through a medley of the country legend's famous hits at the Music Arts Center in a special show entitled "Michael Twitty's Memories of Conway."
"On June 5, 1993 the world lost the best friend a song has ever had, Mr. Conway Twitty," says the announcer before Michael took the stage. "Here tonight at the Music Arts Center you'll see living proof that the legend lives on! Put your hands together and make welcome Conway's number one son Michael Twitty!"
Michael opened the show with Conway's hit song "Boogie Grass Band" which he followed with "Tight Fittin' Jeans," "Don't Call Him A Cowboy," and "Hello Darlin'." The show went off without a hitch with Michael performing at a level that would surely make his father proud.
"He told the guys hush up I wanna hear what the ladies think," Michael recalls his father saying about his smash hit "Tight Fittin' Jeans." "Well the girls loved it and of course the guys loved it too and it was huge number one record for him."
Conway was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Rockabilly Hall of Fame as well after his death. Michael and his grandson Tre continue to carry on Conway's legacy, so even though he may be gone his music lives on.
