Extremely rare footage of Patsy Cline singing "Walkin' After Midnight" live on television resurfaces almost five decades after the original airing in 1957.
The country music star was accompanied on the special by Grady Martin and Hank "Sugar Foot" Garland on guitars and Owen Bradley on the piano. The performance has a very intimate feel to it; Patsy sings directly to the camera making you feel as if she is singing to you and you alone.
"I walk for miles along the highway," sings Patsy. "Well, that's just my way of sayin' I love you. I'm always walkin' after midnight searchin' for you."
"Walkin' After Midnight" was Patsy's first major hit single and has sold over one million copies since its release. When first introduced to the song Patsy initially disliked it but compromised with her label and agreed to record it, proving later to be a good move on her part considering its wild success!
