Faith Hill's mom, Edna Perry, passed away Sunday (October 30) in a Jackson, Mississippi, hospital. She was laid to rest today (November 1) during a private graveside service.
Edna and her husband, Ted, adopted Faith when she was only a few days old, raising her and their two older sons in the tiny Mississippi town of Star.
Edna always supported Faith's love for music, encouraging her to sing at church and family events.
“How thankful I am that she was able to give me the opportunity that I had,” Faith said on Larry King Live. “I was placed into an incredible home that . . . is responsible for the way I am today and the backbone that I have in order to do this for a living.”
In 1999, Hill accepted the CMA Top Female Vocalist Award and publicly thanked her parents for their support while choking back tears.
"To my momma and my father, and my two brothers, I love you so much and thank you for letting me follow my dream."
Faith Hill took to Facebook Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 1) to address the tragic loss of her mom.
"As you may have heard, my mom passed away this Sunday and was laid to rest this morning. While this is a difficult time for our family, we rejoice in knowing that she is in heaven and no longer suffering. Thank you all for kind words and prayers."
