Former Garth Brooks Singing Partner Shares Devastating News Of Cancer Return

Mark Humphrey

Country music icon Garth Brooks has had no shortage of philanthropic affiliations and efforts, often melting fans with his kind heart and dedication to do more good above all else. As he formerly expressed, Brooks believes his job should revolve around giving back to others.

The “Rodeo” singer did just that back in 2016 when he kindly invited then 19-year-old Danielle El-Jor onstage during a live performance, giving this courageous girl the night of her dreams. Prior to her performance with Brooks, El-Jor was expecting to audition for NBC‘s hit show The Voice. However, on the day of her audition, the young girl underwent a biopsy and was later diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Brooks became aware of the young girl through contact with a local radio station, ultimately inviting her to his show for a coveted performance with the star. The audience was entranced by El-Jor’s remarkable voice and astounding story of redemption as she successfully sent her Hodgkin’s Lymphoma into remission.

However, in a recent update, the young woman informed readers that her Hodgkin’s Lymphoma has regrettably returned.

“I’m trying to stay as positive as I can, and my faith has kept me going this long. Here’s to another journey, another short haircut, and of course, another chance to kick some butt,” she informed in a recent update posted to her Facebook account.

In light of an upcoming performance, the singer has opted to delay immediate treatments until late March, where she will undergo various rounds of chemotherapy and tests, in addition to awaiting a stem cell transplant.

“Everything has been taken from me in a short amount of time, and the only thing I asked for and wanted, is to perform at the Southern Women’s Show on March 18th! I hope many of you will make it out to see me,” she told CBS 6.

Please continue to keep this inspiring young woman in your deepest thoughts and prayers.
